There was a UFO over the city today. We eventually identified it as a blimp of some sort – but it was too far away to work out what it was advertising.

The Lotterywest Federation Walkway in Kings Park slightly overlooks Perth city as you can just see the top of the main buildings, but it mainly overlooks the southern part of the Swan and Canning Rivers and sits above the old Perth Brewery.

“The Lotterywest Federation Walkway reaches a maximum height of 16 m at the apex of the uniquely designed 52 m glass and steel arched bridge which appears suspended amidst the canopy of tall eucalypts, including Karri, Marri, Tingle and Jarrah trees.”

This is the view across the Swan River to South Perth.

This photo turned out perfectly – the water was very flat and still this morning – this was at around 7.30am.

I have had this picture for a while and have wanted to use it – these are White Cockatoos that hang around the Swan River/Bell Tower area. I loved the glow on this picture.

This footpath winds along next to the Swan River. The carts in the distance can be hired to peddle around the foreshore.

The great thing about working in the CBD is there is always somewhere to go at lunchtime.  Venturing down to the Bell Tower at Barrack Square, I could hear the bells chiming from about a block away.
