I went up north for the week to Kununurra and Wyndham, so I managed to get a few pictures of the local area as we drove to places.

Such amazing scenery in the northern part of Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Formerly The Old Swan Brewery where they used to make beer, its now been turned into an apartment and restaurant complex.

Kings Park is always a great place to visit regularly for the views of Perth city and just to walk around when the weather is great, the Kings Park gardeners are always updating the flowers regularly in and around the main tourist areas.

The Eternal Flame memorial (centre of the water feature) is permanently lit and constantly burns away day and night.

Jasmin and I were showing some friends around Perth, after visiting Fremantle we drove to Cottesloe beach.

Perfect day, but the weather was too cold for any swimming, as its mid winter here in Perth.

We went down to Hillarys Boat Harbor (Sorrento) yesterday to see whats new and improved.

As its regularly busy on the weekends with the cafe’s, shops and the occasional market, so its well worthy of a visit and since we last went several months back its been renovated here and there with some new shops and food stores opening.

The other day Jasmin and I went down to the Guildford area which is a heritage listed suburb with an antique district if you want to call it, where most people come to shop for antiquities – old furniture and knick knacks.

It also has a nice coffee/cafe strip along side the train-line.

During the Christmas break (2009) Jasmin and I drove down to Mundaring Weir in the early morning.

It was a perfect day, no one around and with great weather so we managed to get some great clear sky photos.

We have arrived home today after a relaxing holiday down south via Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River, overnight in Pemberton, through Walpole & Denmark to reach our final destination of Albany. Lack of internet access limited our ability to post – but we will do a photo a day now to catch up.

This is the balcony that the room opened onto – the parrot flew in as soon as we returned from the walk, so I fed him a few crumbs. When we returned to the room later after dinner he had left these flowers on the balcony for us – a thank you perhaps?

We went to New Norcia recently which is Australia’s only Monastic town.

Took about 1.5hrs to drive up that way but it was well worth it, not only was the day perfect (though a little chilly from the wind) the historic buildings that were built there, were perfect for taking photos of.

One of Australia’s flora and fauna icons is the Kangaroo Paw, it looks quirky but has a really nice colour to it.
Soft to touch like an aloe-vera plant but also has a furry feeling to it.

Kings Park has plenty of these scattered around the nature trails and along the main entrance overlooking the city.
